I am pleased to announce that my work will be published in .tiff magazine of Fotomuseum Antwerpen!
“.tiff is as unpredictable as Belgian photography itself. The poster-format magazine features a whole gamut of personalities, moods and styles. Every year, the magazine will publish a selection of the very best of the up-and-coming image makers of our country. .tiff 2017 is launched in September and presents: Alexey Shlyk, Arnaud de Wolf, Calixte Poncelet, Jeroen Bocken, Maria Baoli, Massao Mascaro, Pauline Beugnies, Pauline Niks, Sine van Menxel, Thomas Nolf.” (https://www.fotomuseum.be/en/-tiff-magazine.html)
Thirty-six international photographers, selected by curator Arianna Rinaldo among those most confronted with uncomfortable topics such as war photography, were asked to capture daily moments of beauty, tenderness, compassion, and humanity, using a 36-exposure roll (or more medium format rolls). The analog film, by forcefully limiting the shooting possibilities - at least in quantitative terms - puts the photographers in the position of having to choose and select “36 little good things” to be emphasized. One photo will be selected out of each roll, for a total of 36 images that will be exhibited in an exhibition at the Cortona On The Move international photography festival, scheduled from 13 July to 1 October 2017.
At the end of the exhibition, in collaboration with the agency Spacenomore, the 36 images will be donated to the no-profit organisation 1Caffè and auctioned for charity purposes.
The 36 photographers from all over the world involved in the project are: Fati Abubakar, Juan Arredondo, Poulomi Basu, Albert Bonsfills, Alejandro Chaskielberg, Sagar Chhetri, Annalisa Cimmino, Rahul Dhankani, Giulio Di Sturco, Henrik Duncker, Thomas Dworzak, Alinka Echeverria, Ziyah Gafic, Tanya Habjouqa, Yaakov Israel, Dragana Jurišic, Michal Korta, Sheng-Wen Lo, Rania Matar, Rafal Milach, Sol Neelman, Zed Nelson, Franco Pagetti, Alessandro Penso, Pietro Privitera, Sarker Protick, Daniele Ratti, Agnieszka Rayss, Lina Scheynius, Alexey Shlyk, Carlos Spottorno, Wei Leng Tay, Jeroen Toirkens, Gihan Tubbeh, Martin Weber, and Reed Young.
